Denver Zoo

Today was our annual work picnic. It was at the Denver Zoo. I went alone since Glen is gone. I am a little tired of doing everything alone but I did enjoy looking at all the animals. I took lots of pictures and here are some of my favorites.

There was a bird sanctuary and I got to walk in a stand right beside them. Very cool.
This primate sat with all four feet on the window staring at everyone. Then he got up and jumped at a little girl and scared the mess out of her.
I love watching the bears. They had several cubs but they were hard to photograph because they kept running. This is a grizzly.
Can't remember the name of this bird but isn't it cool?

Yeah, It's Got a Hemi

This is what I got to drive today at work. We are trying out a couple of them. Today was my turn. It made the day go by fast and makes me a little sad that I have to go back to my Crown Vic tomorrow. This is one bad ass looking car and it got noticed.

Thrift Store Finds

I love going to one of the local thift stores on Saturdays because everything is 50% off. I found some black vinyl fabric I am going to use to line makeup bags and red fabric with velvety designs I am going to make a skirt out of. I picked up a few baby outfits for $1 each that I am going to take apart and practice pattern making. My favorite find is a book for $1.50. It is The Psalms of David and James Freemantle used calligraphy and drawings for the entire book of Psalms. It is fantastic.
